Stark Cursor Objectives

Stark Cursor is an independent online news publication made by student journalists from the University of the Philippines Baguio. The publication aims to report accessible and reliable news contributory towards promoting critical thinking and nationalism for Filipinos.

The publication is aware of the critical role of the youth towards nation-building and therefore aims to guide them in making more informed decisions and thoughts. In the disinformation age, Stark Cursor upholds the importance of safeguarding democracy and the truth through objective and credible reporting.

The cursor can be considered as the digital counterpart of the pen, serving as a guide to both readers and writers in online journalism. The cursor will serve as the publication’s primary tool in carrying out its tasks and objectives. The word ‘stark’ is used because the publication aims to make the truth and information clearer and more accessible to the public, especially its target audience.
