"MASKS FOR BINS, NOT FOR WILDLIFE" - As COVID-19 pandemic restrictions begin to loosen in the 48 areas Malacañang declared on March 15 under Alert Level 1, more people will be able to go outside wearing face masks. In 2021, Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu called for proper disposal of face masks which have become threats to the environment, animals and health. “Our responsibility extends to the disposal of these healthcare items which are potentially contaminated,” said Cimatu.
